American Staffordshire Terrier (“Amstaff” or “Staffie”) is one of the breeds developed to achieve top-tier dog baits. Although bull and bear baiting were outlawed in England since 1835, illegal dog matches take their place.
Contrary to their unfortunate history and intimidating look, staffies are actually good-natured creatures. Staffies are intelligent, loyal, and courageous. They are dependable guards, companions, and family dogs.
Staffies need constant mental and physical activity. Otherwise, they will grow bored and destructive. Chances are, they will chew on your stuff. So if you want to own one, do your research and be responsible.

GROOMING YOUR AMSTAFF
Staffies are short-coated, which generally makes them easy to groom. Frequent bathing is not recommended. Give them a bath only when necessary. You can actually clean them with regular brushing. Use a soft-bristled brush, gloves, and mitts to prevent scratching their skin. Do not forget to check their ears, nails, and places where ticks hide. Lastly, associate grooming with a positive experience.
